The one who’s screaming with heaven-splitting violence is a broodlord. The guy on the right is a tyrant guard, and the one on the left is the Zoanthrope, who I showed off last night.

Yay, I finished another mini!

This one’s a Zoanthrope, and one of the creatures that first interested me about Tyranids. Quite happy with how he turned out, the brain colour (apparently Dwarf flesh colour) looks a lot better on this guy than the bright orange of the others.

Arthur Joseph “Jocko” Conlon (December 10, 1897 – August 5, 1987) was a professional baseball player for the Boston Braves in Major League Baseball. Conlon was an alumnus of Harvard College, class of 1922, where he captained the Crimson baseball team.

Keith Elliott VC (25 April 1916 – 7 October 1989) was a soldier in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and recipient of the Victoria Cross, during the Second World War.

Alfred “Alf” John Hooke (February 25, 1905 – February 17, 1992) was a teacher, provincial politician and author from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1935 to 1971 sitting with the Social Credit party in government. During his time in office Hooke served numerous cabinet portfolio’s in the government of Ernest Manning from 1943 to 1968.

Hurricane Fran caused extensive damage in the United States in early September 1996. The sixth named storm, fifth hurricane, fourth major hurricane of the 1996 Atlantic hurricane season, Fran developed from a tropical wave near Cape Verde on August 23. Due to nearby Hurricane Edouard, the depression remained disorganized as it tracked westward, though it eventually intensified into Tropical Storm Fran on August 27. While heading west-northwestward, Fran steadily strengthened into a hurricane on August 29, but weakened back to a tropical storm on the following day. On August 31, Fran quickly re-intensified into a hurricane. By September 2, Fran began to parallel the islands of the Bahamas and slowly curved north-northwestward. Fran peaked as a 120 mph (195 km/h) Category 3 hurricane by early on September 5. Thereafter, Fran weakened slightly, before it made landfall near Cape Fear, North Carolina early on September 6. The storm rapidly weakened inland and was only a tropical depression later that day. Eventually, Fran curved east-northeastward and transitioned into an extratropical cyclone over Ontario early on September 9.

Anthony “Fat Tony” Salerno (August 15, 1911 - July 27, 1992) was a New York mobster who served as front boss of the Genovese crime family to family boss Vincent “The Chin” Gigante from the 1970s until his conviction in 1986. Usually seen wearing a fedora hat and chomping on a cigar, he was nicknamed “Fat Tony” due to his size.

Alfred Earl “Al” Hansen (5 October 1927 – 22 June 1995) was an American artist considered as one of the most important Fluxus figures. He was a Norwegian American.

Born in New York City, he was a member of the Fluxus art movement and friend to Yoko Ono and John Cage. While serving in Germany in World War II Hansen pushed a piano off the roof of a five story building. This act became the foundation of one of his most recognized performance pieces, the Yoko Ono Piano Drop and inspired artists like Nam June Paik.

Sylvester Stadler (30 December 1910 – 23 August 1995) was a SS-Brigadeführer and Generalmajor of the Waffen-SS, a commander of the 2nd SS Division Das Reich, 9th SS Panzer Division Hohenstaufen and a winner of the Knight’s Cross with Oakleaves and Swords. He was one of the youngest German generals during World War II, being only 34 years old when the war ended in 1945.

No big surprises, save maybe less GBS than I’d have expected, and I didn’t know there was a Percy song on here. But then, I have 3810 songs on my iPod, so I’m not sure what like half of it is. Skipping through the next 10 I got MCR, Green Day, RHCP, Smash Mouth, more BNL, and country, but still no more GBS. Where is it all?

So after a full weekend of painting, I have finished 9 termagants (middle row, with the guns), 4 hormagaunts (back row, with the longer claws), 2 genestealers (the other 2 dudes in the back) and 5 spore mines (the front row)

I think they’re coming along nicely.

So my friend got me into Warhammer 40k. I have spent a large part of today painting minis. These are my first 6 minis, a bunch of Tyranid Termagants.

This is literally the first thing I’ve painted in years.

Only 50-some more to go.
